from www.fresnobee.com - A Washington Union High School teacher was arrested Thursday on suspicion of having sex with a student, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.
Nadia Christine Diaz, 26, faces charges of sex with a minor and oral copulation, the Sheriff's Office said.
The alleged crimes happened in January and February 2009 when Diaz worked as a substitute teacher at the Easton school, where she met the student, who was 14 at the time, the Sheriff's Office said.
Diaz since became a full-time social sciences teacher at the high school. A sheriff's deputy was called to the school Wednesday to open an investigation, and Diaz was arrested Thursday morning at the Sheriff's Office's headquarters. She was booked into Fresno County Jail but posted bail.
She has been placed on administrative leave at the school.
