TLAgay (www.TLAgay.com), North America’s largest retailer of gay adult home entertainment, today announced the winners of the 2010 TLAgay Adult Awards.
In its inaugural year, the annual awards program was created to honor the very best in adult movies, studios, talent, sex toys and more. TLAgay’s in-house staff devised the categories, with the final list of nominees being determined by overall vote-getters in each category. Voting was conducted online via the http://TLAgay.com website for the entire month of March, and was open to both TLA’s customers and the public at large.
“We wanted to create some good will and do something fun that would allow the fans to have a say in who they thought was the best of the year,” said Erik Schut, TLA Managing Director.
“We figured it would do well, but after a final tally of nearly 30,000 votes we quickly realized that fans loved the idea. Our tagline is ‘We know you like to watch.’ Maybe next year we should change it to ‘We know you like to vote.’ It was definitely a totally positive and eye-opening experience.”
“Men of Israel is one of my most important releases to date,” said Lucas Entertainment CEO Michael Lucas [pictured] of the film’s win for Must-Own Movie of the Year.
“I’m extremely proud of the film, and of the work my team put into it.” He continued, “I am thrilled that the public responded so well to it, and want to thank TLA and especially all the fans who voted.”
Upon taking top honors as Director of the Year, irrepressible and iconic fan fave Chi Chi LaRue remarked, “After over 21 years in this crazy and wonderful biz, I still get touched when the fans vote for me. This is great coming from the amazing people at TLA, who have been so supportive of everyone in the industry, especially C1R.com. XOXO!”
“The TLAgay Awards are truly the People’s Choice Awards of the gay adult industry, so it means even more to us that the fans chose TitanMen as Big-Boy Studio of the Year,” said company Vice President Keith Webb. “It is truly an honor to be the [category’s] very first recipient. I guess it goes to show that size does matter!” Mr. Webb concluded with, “From all of the big boys at TitanMen, a big “thank you” to TLA and all the fans that voted.”
Online mega-site producer Randy Blue moved into the DVD market for the first time, and fans took notice. Upon getting the news of his win, Mr. Blue said “Wow, what an honor to be named Best New to DVD/Up & Coming Studio in TLA’s Gay Adult awards. My staff and I are honored and look forward to taking this to a whole new level for our fans and future fans!”
