Florida- A 37-year-old man apparently enjoyed his subscription to Playboy.com but not paying for it.
Instead, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report, Brett William Becker used his 84-year-old neighbor's bank account to pay for his online subscription to the gentleman's magazine and membership for VSMedia.com, an online business communications Web site.
On Sunday, Becker, of 11831 Meadow Drive, was arrested on charges of identity theft and scheme to defraud.
In April, the woman noticed a charge of $58.75 to her Bank of America checking account that she didn't make and met with bank officials to piece together the puzzle. Soon, they realized that the charges were attached to Becker's name. She recognized him as a neighbor, according to a report.
The woman told authorities that she often receives mail in her box for Becker who lives behind her but she doesn't know him personally.
Becker, according to the report, admitted to detectives that he accidentally opened the woman's mail that was delivered to his house and found her checking and routing numbers and started using them.
In all, he spent $2,175 of the woman's cash, according to the report.
Becker was released from the Land O' Lakes Jail later Sunday after posting $12,000 bail.
