Planning a Porn Party? Then You Better Read This

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to, Cry if I want to, cry if I want to,
You would cry too if it happened to you… Leslie Gore [pictured]

Porn Valley- Producer/director Jennifer James was having some problems with party planner Eddie Lopez.

It was over money www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=25485 which comes as a shock.

When the story was first posted, Lopez left me a couple of messages stating that he was innocent in the affair and that someone from Club Facade, where the party was held, would be calling to straighten the matter out. No one from the club called, and Lopez never returned my call back. If he had, he would have been invited to KSEX as James and her business partner Susan Olson were last week.

Olson said she would have loved to have had Lopez in the studio and the opportunity to confront him.

The party itself, which was held the first Saturday in November, went off without a hitch but it was the aftermath that became a financial blood bath.

“It was the Three Amigos [Eddie Lopez, Louis DePaz and Roman Sanchez]- the three party planners that have been giving Jennifer and Susie fits subsequent to that party,” I said in announcing James and Olson.

“It’s like three characters out of a Bogart movie- Sanchez, Lopez and DePaz. DePaz has the Falcon and he gave it to Sanchez who in turn gave it to Lopez.”

It was also noted that Lopez had been involved- prior- with another party fiasco that included allegations from Kayla Quinn that she and her friends were held hostage of sorts at Lopez’s house [people who were there later corroborated what she had said] following another wing ding Thanksgiving of last year. www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=20168

“Lopez called and told me I need to do my research,” I continued.

“What kind of research do you do in the adult business? Is there a hall of research where there’s paperwork you can look at? No. Research is basically talking to people and whoever has the best story is the story you go with.”

James, Olson and my co-host Lynn LeMay all agreed on that assessment.

“We don’t want anyone in the porn industry to go through what we went through,” assessed James. I hastened to remind James and Olson that Lopez in his two phone messages to me had been very convincing in his sincerity and said that there was a conspiracy to discredit him.

“What was the situation regarding money all about?” I asked James.

“Eddie is one of a group of these people who have joined our industry- these party promoters,” explained James. “These are people who have no connection with the porn industry who have come in and promised great things and great benefits. There are a few of them who are good like Jeff Mullen and a couple of others that actually do a real job. But some of these new people who have no connections, many are con jobs.”

“I had worked with Gus who was his partner at one time,” James continued. “As it turned out, it’s a long story but we ended up getting in contact. It got crazier and crazier because Eddie had claimed that his house burned down and he had nowhere to live. He needed a place to live. So I had a bedroom in my apartment and I let him stay there.

“That was the beginning of the issue. He was throwing parties and we needed a party thrown for my movie release Sex and The Machine. We had investors and Susan and I put up money to get things done [for the party], posters printed, vinyl fliers, P.R., deposits- thousands of dollars we put up to make this party nice.”

James said everything she does is done professionally and made the best way she can.

“So we wanted it to be a good party.”

LeMay said she had history with Lopez herself.

“When these party promoters first came into play, Louis [DePaz] was my first experience,” LeMay said. “Eddie was my last.”

According to LeMay, Lopez tried to get her to sponsor both the Quinn party and James’. According to LeMay, Lopez called her for a thousand dollars for the James party telling her he needed the money right then and there.

“That’s what a sponsorship went for your party,” LeMay told James who was visibly stunned to be hearing all of this. James said she wasn’t aware that Lopez was hustling money for sponsorships and logos.

“I didn’t know you guys didn’t know,” continued LeMay. “I was just very offended that I was called.”

“Every day we hear more stuff, dragging in Jennifer James Films,” said Olson. “It’s so upsetting.”

On the other hand, James said she’s been working with the people at Club Facade who realized that “dirty deals” went down.

“They don’t want to be associated with it,” James continued. “He’s gone. The club promoter Roman Sanchez is gone.”

“Roman was fired by Club Facade,” Olson adds.

“At the end of the evening there was some squaring up to be done- you were promised to get money out of this,” I said.

“Certainly to be compensated for what we had already put up,” agreed James.
James admitted that there was no contract.

“You know what a piece of paper is worth in our industry,” she added. “Come on.”

“And it’s kind of difficult to collect from somebody that’s homeless,” Olson chimes in. “Like Eddie.”

Olson, who’s from the mainstream, said that after this experience she won’t do anything in the adult business unless she gets it in writing.

“Everyone is blaming everyone else,” said James. “The only one I have proof on is Eddie. I don’t know Roman and I don’t know Louis. I know Eddie and Eddie has stolen [allegedly] things from my house. Eddie has lied to me. One of my checks was taken out of my check book and forged. And I later discovered he was fired from a previous employer for forged checks.”

According to James, Lopez allegedly cashed the check he allegedly took out of her check book.

“That was for $1200- I’ve filed a police report. It’s gone to the police and the police will go after it as a felony,” added James. “In fact I was on the phone with the police, getting additional copies of the check. I have a copy and it’s obviously not my signature.”

James claims that Lopez wrote the check to another individual.

“Now they’re going after that person,” said James.

I was curious to know who that person was and LeMay scolded me for being a bad boy, that it was an open case.

“I was just trying to be a reporter,” I told her. “Thank you for keeping me on the straight and narrow.”

On the subject of DePaz, LeMay called him a “shyster”.

“He did my party for Phoenix Rising,” she explained. “We were two hours late and I couldn’t get into the club because I wasn’t on the list. It was at Aura.”

LeMay detailed a number of personal fiascos attendant to that party.

“Then I asked him where I could go to get a drink. He goes at the bar, the line’s right there. And it was my party. I got zero for this.”

What added insult to injury, said LeMay, is that she found out that DePaz had also sold club space to another movie release party.

“That happens all the time,” said James. “That’s how they do deals.”

“And Pamela Peaks had my corner which really pissed me off,” adds LeMay. “It was MY party. Pamela Peaks. Re-port-er. Find your spot. I love Pam, but, whatever. Find your spot. I paid for that night.”

According to LeMay, DePaz did a similar thing to her in Vegas last year.

“Remember the big House of Blues party?” asks LeMay. “You remember who hosted that? Me. But I didn’t know that. My picture was on the flier for that party. But he didn’t ask me. Kacee Starr was second and he didn’t ask her. You think someone might have asked me and I was never invited. Nobody could give me an excuse or reason why my picture was on that flier as the host and I couldn’t get in. Now Louis is calling me about doing my birthday party. I think that’s hysterical. After the Phoenix party to do that in Vegas and THEN to even call me..?”

“I would be REALLY pissed if I were you,” I told LeMay. “I would be steaming.”

James said this was a perfect example of party promoters using the porn industry for their own gain.

LeMay then showed me a text message that DePaz had sent her about her party.

Along with the check that went missing, James said she and Olson had found jewelry tucked away when they went to look for Olson’s computer bag.

“Eddie had borrowed her computer,” said James. “We decided that wasn’t a good idea. She went and got her lap top computer out of the bedroom…”

“I was suspicious of things,” added Olson. “Things were not adding up and he was acting really strange around Jen. He was very nervous- every single time he was around her. His foot was going like this and he was really twitchy. It was the strangest thing. I go I don’t like this, I’m taking my computer back.

“So I go upstairs in the bedroom where he was staying. I’m looking and I’m looking. And behind this black garbage bag full of dirty clothing that was his, was my computer bag. So I pulled it out- it was heavy and I was wondering what the hell’s in here? A ton of Jen’s jewelry was in my computer bag that he had hidden behind his dirty laundry.”

“He got some other things he got out the door,” adds James. “A couple of guns and some other jewelry.”

James said the guns were located in a chest of drawers near the checks.

“Like I said this is film noir- we have Lopez, Sanchez and DePaz, now we have guns,” I point out. “All we need is the P.I.”

“Or somebody dead,” adds LeMay.

“Were these .38’s? or .45’s?” I ask James.

“Actually when was a Ruger rifle that had a break down stock on it,” answered James. “So it kind of looked like a paratrooper rifle. It looked real mean but it was a .22 rifle that had 30-shot banana clips on it, a scope…it looked like a baby assault rifle; and also a replica of a Civil War pistol that had been given to me.

“I just went in the drawer one day and they were gone. No one else had access to that room and maybe they walked away on their own but I tend to doubt that.”

James said some of the drama had already been unfolding with Lopez but the idea was to get through the party.

“It was a walking on egg shells kind of thing.”

“I was worried about Jen’s safety,” Olson chimes in, noting that she started keeping James’ valuables at her place.

“I was worried about her cameras and her equipment – stuff was going out of her place left and right. I go this is crazy. We got to get this guy out and anything that was valuable we had to keep at my place.”

James said she was later told by people that Lopez had received his cut from the party but he was already gone by the time she learned any of that.

Prior to her coming on the KSEX show, Olson said she had received communication from Lopez in the late night.

“He wanted to settle things.”

In his sideswipe of a message which LeMay read, Lopez tells Olson he thought she was just a cook and didn’t know she was involved in the organizing of the party.

“He often offers to square things up when he has no ability to square them up,” states James. “Then if you ignore him or do not respond, then he starts to threaten and get violent.”

In their previous exchanges, Lopez had supposedly threatened James with some sordid tale about her that he was going to leak.

“I’m pretty well known in this business,” said James. “Everybody knows all the skeletons in my closet. It’s pretty fucking obvious. So what are you going to say? That people hate me? Then get in the back of a long line of people that hate me for one reason or another. But I don’t have any secrets to hide.”
