TERRE HAUTE, Ind. from www.WTHItv.com – – A Terre Haute firefighter appeared in court Monday for allegedly hiring prostitutes. The prostitution scheme has resulted in three people facing charges.
Police said Terre Haute Firefighter Michael Odum was at the 6th Avenue Gentlemen’s Club Friday night when he allegedly talked about buying sex from two women, Denise Owsley and Connie Hiland [pictured]. Officials said Odum and the two women then went to the Travel Lodge Motel.
At one point, there was a disagreement about paying the women. Two men then entered the room and started beating Odum.
Police said Odum left the motel and called to reported a robbery of $100, but then Odum tried to hide from police.
Officials later found him and the two women. Owsley admitted to trying to sell sex to Odum. Owsley and Hiland are facing charges of prostitution and robbery.
Odum appeared in City Court for a misdemeanor charge of patronizing a prostitute.
As for Odum’s future with the Terre Haute Fire Department, Fire Chief Jeff Fisher said he has no comment at this time.
News 10 also placed a call with the 6th Avenue to see if the two women are affiliated with the club, but was not able to get in touch with anyone.
