Porn WikiLeaks, a website that published personal information of adult performers, including real names and home addresses, has been acquired and subsequently shut down by Bang Bros in August 2019. The site, which at one point listed over 15,000 performers, sourced its data from a patient database managed by AIM Medical Associates, a clinic where many adult film performers underwent testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

Site Operations and Data Breach

Porn WikiLeaks operated as a wiki website, making public private information about adult actors. This information included real names and home addresses, with chatter on the site’s message boards suggesting that STD test results might also be published. Gawker reported on March 30, 2011, that it had found proof the site had gained access to the adult industry’s HIV testing database. By March 31, 2011, the site had published the real names of more than 15,000 performers.

The information breach led to the closure of AIM Medical Associates due to lawsuits. Performers expressed significant concerns regarding the exposure of their personal data. Christian XXX stated that the site posted his real name, the real names of his parents, their home address and telephone number, the name and picture and phone number of his brother, and a picture of the cemetery where his grandfather recently passed away. He also reported that the site claimed he had HIV.

The website experienced high traffic, appearing to be overrun at times. The domain name for Porn WikiLeaks was registered in the Netherlands.

Speculation on Ownership and Connections

The identity of those behind Porn WikiLeaks was a subject of discussion within the adult industry. A number of performers believed the website was either run by or connected to Donny Long, a former porn director and actor. Long was known for his blog posts concerning the HIV threat he attributed to homosexuals in the industry. In an email, Long denied being part of Porn WikiLeaks, stating he had "an account there" and "support from the [site’s] owners because I was one of the only people to speak out about the gays ruining the porn industry for years."

Kimberly Kane, an adult performer, stated that "Most of us in the porn industry know who is behind Porn WikiLeaks; he is doing it out of hatred for a business that shunned him for being even too repugnant for porn." The individual referred to by Kane also stated that he had no connections to the site "other than having an account there."

A connection between Porn WikiLeaks and GirlsDoPorn was established during a trial against GirlsDoPorn. A witness named Monica shared photos only with the men behind GirlsDoPorn.com, which she then deleted. These photos subsequently appeared on Porn WikiLeaks, indicating a link between the two sites beyond domain registrants.

Acquisition and Closure

In August 2019, Porn WikiLeaks was purchased by Bang Bros. Following the acquisition, Bang Bros shut down the website. A video was subsequently posted by Bang Bros showing a pile of hard drives being set on fire, symbolizing the site's termination.
