Screw magazine has launched Screwcast, a new streaming application for the Screw Network, enabling users to stream adult entertainment directly to Roku devices. This development allows for content browsing on phones or computers and instant casting to televisions over a home Wi-Fi network.
Screwcast Functionality and Access
The Screwcast application, launched on July 13, 2026, in Jersey City, N.J., is designed around privacy, convenience, and personal choice. It communicates with a user's Roku device via their local Wi-Fi network, eliminating the need for complicated setup or additional hardware, unlike cloud-based sharing platforms.
Screwcast is available as a free download for Android and Google Chrome. It also offers a free browser extension for desktop PCs and Macs, macOS, and iPhone/iPad users through the Orion Browser. A native iOS application is currently in development, with a release slated for the fall.
Access to Screwcast content requires the Screw TV Roku channel, which carries a $9.99 per month subscription for early adopters. This subscription price is set to increase to $19.99 per month as more content is added to the network. At its launch, Screwcast streams content directly from ScrewNetwork.com, including original productions from Screw Network, licensed partner and affiliate content, classic videos, trailers, and some exclusive programming.
Expansion and Content Integration
Screw Network anticipates expanding the service by inviting studios, content creators, and independent publishers to integrate their websites with Screwcast as the user base grows. Integration has been designed for simplicity, requiring only a single line of code for participating websites to enable Roku casting.
Phil Italiano, publisher of Screw magazine, stated that the goal is not to build another closed platform. Italiano noted that studios have invested years in building their audiences, and Screwcast aims to help them reach television audiences with minimal development work, while allowing consumers to enjoy content more comfortably and privately.
Downloads, setup instructions, and additional information for Screwcast are available at ScrewNetwork.com.
Screw TV's Existing Roku Presence
Prior to the Screwcast launch, Screw TV had already established a presence on Roku. On November 12, 2020, Screw TV announced it was opening its platform to adult podcasters and "vidcasters." This streaming channel is a free, adults-only channel available exclusively on Roku. It offers free adult content in addition to premium content for Screw Magazine subscribers.
A company representative stated that this initiative allows broadcasters to expand their content offerings to Screw TV’s 600,000 subscribers. Content creators with adult-themed podcasts or shows streaming on platforms like YouTube or XBIZ TV can submit their content to Screw TV to reach a global audience.
This announcement coincided with the relaunch of the legacy brand Screw Magazine by Miami-based AMG. AMG founder and Screw publisher Phil Autelitano explained that while most adult content on Roku is subscription-only, Screw TV operates as an open platform for adult content creators to share their shows, promote themselves, their art, or products, similar to online platforms, but to a growing Roku audience.
Autelitano also noted that streaming TV options for adult content had been limited, and Screw TV was the only free option for adult content. This free model allowed the platform to quickly grow one of the largest adult audiences on Roku, which could then be used to promote various content and creators.
Content on Screw TV Roku Channel
The Screw Roku channel, a production of Screw Magazine, which began publishing in 1968, does not feature hardcore adult content. Instead, it offers films, podcasts, and web series with adult themes, much of which would likely be rated TV-MA. Users can subscribe for $0.99 per month through the Roku channel, without needing a magazine subscription.
As of March 22, 2022, content categories include "Featured Flicks," which features a dozen movies such as documentaries, stand-up comedy, and older B-movies. Titles include Porn King: The Trials of Al Goldstein, a 2005 documentary, and Vampire Hookers, a 1978 sexploitation horror film. Other content includes the podcast "Us Against Humanity," the sci-fi comedy web series "Who Is Jon Porter?", short clips from various burlesque shows under "Burlesque, Baby!!", and "Retro SCREW Covers," showcasing vintage magazine covers from the 1960s through the 1990s.
