Beverly Hills- I spoke to producer Steve Banan this evening and he confirmed the rumors are true. The Banan Entertainment Group, Inc., has plans to produce “The Bobby Hollander Story”. Steve said, “It has been on the table, we have been working on it for over seven months now”.

Bobby Hollander was one of the true legends of the adult industry. His career spanned over thirty years, until his untimely death in 2002. Steve Banan the executive producer told me, “I have supplied my company with over 50 pages of a private interview; I had with Bobby in the hospital a few weeks before he passed away. We have also hired several freelance writers, to go out and conduct interviews with certain people that were a big part of Bobby’s life. As soon as all the information is collected, we will write the script and shoot it. “

I asked Steve what he envisions might be some of the problems or even difficulty, in doing a period piece on a person that is no longer among us? Steve Banan said, “Of coarse there are always problems when you are working on a major project such the likes of this one. It will be hard for me, because a lot of it I lived. The only real difficulty I foresee will be in the casting. It most definitely, will not be easy to find people to play Ron Jeremy, Jamie Gillis, Serena, Sharon Mitchell, Amber Lynn, Candida Royal, Freddie Lincoln, Tom Byron, Bobby Genova, The Mitchell Bros, Ruben Sturman and of coarse his wife Gloria Leonard and many others, but I am certainly ready and up for the challenge.”

Since Steve Banan was there in the 1970 in New York and has fond memories of Bobby Hollander. He recalls one day on the set at Plato’s Retreat, this will most definitely be included in the movie. He spent a lot time with Mr. Hollander in California and along with Sharon Mitchell, was responsible for the send off; the adult industry gave Bobby in 2002. I had the great pleasure of viewing the original never seen before digital tapes that will most surely be used in the film.

Steve Banan told me, “We plan to take this film from the beginnings of Alan’s (Bobby Hollander) life as a young boy right up until the end of his life.”
