Adult-nightclub operator VCG Holding Corp. Monday posted a loss of $35.7 million, or $2 per share, in the fourth quarter, versus a restated net loss of $869,000, or 5 cents a share, in in the same quarter a year ago.
The Lakewood-based company (NASDAQ: VCGH) said its revenue was $14.5 million in the three months ending Dec. 31, up from restated revenue of $12.8 million a year earlier.
It said same-store sales for the quarter was up 2.1 percent.
VCG reported $48 in non-cash impairment charges in the quarter, related to the write-off of goodwill, licenses and other intangibles.
For the full year of 2008, VCG reported a net loss of $30.7 million or $1.69 a share, versus restated net income of $5.4 million or 32 cents a share in full-year 2007.
It said 2008 revenue was $57.7 million, up from restated revenue of $39.6 million in 2007.
“We are pleased with our performance for the fourth quarter and full year, including revenue growth for both periods during a sluggish economy,” VCG Chairman/CEO Troy Lowrie said in a statement Monday.
VCG owns the Diamond Cabaret and La Boheme adult clubs in Denver as well as clubs in Colorado Springs; Anaheim, Calif.; Indianapolis; St. Louis; Fort Worth and Dallas; Raleigh, N.C.; Minneapolis; Louisville, Ky.; Miami; and Portland, Maine.
