Adult industry market research outfit SWR Data has published its 2026 'Hot List' report on the top creator platforms of 2025.

Report Highlights Shift in Creator Economy

The report, which is part of SWR's annual State of the Creator survey, polled more than 500 working adult creators in the fall of 2025. The anonymous survey covers a wide range of subjects central to the creator economy, including demographics, income trends, work habits, platform sentiment, and revenue challenges.

According to the report, the number of creators claiming clip sales as their primary source of revenue rose 24% year-over-year, while the percentage of creators reporting fan site subscriptions as their primary source of income fell 20%. This shift is attributed to creators tiring of "fan site hustle culture" and seeking more stable income sources.

SWR Data co-founders MelRose Michaels and Mike Stabile noted that the data points to a potential shift in the creator economy. They plan to dive deeper into the data over the coming weeks and months to help creators and platforms navigate this new world.

Clip Trend Report Released Separately

In related news, SWR Data published a report titled "What's Behind the Rise in Clips" earlier this year. The report explores the performance of clip platforms and sales, highlighting the growing trend of creators relying on clip sales as their primary source of revenue.
