Maryland- A former high school English teacher from Frostburg has pleaded guilty to a sex offense with a 15-year-old male student
Autumn Lee Leathers, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree sex offense during a court hearing last week in Cumberland.
In return for her guilty plea, prosecutors dropped more serious charges, including child abuse and assault.
The conviction carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail, a $1,000 fine and registration as a sex offender. No sentencing date has been set.
Leathers was an English teacher at Mountain Ridge High School in May when she allegedly began a three-month relationship with the boy.
