New York- Their accused pimp is behind bars, but that hasn’t stopped the $2,000-an-hour “Ultimate Girlfriends” of the NY Confidential escort service from carrying on business as usual, The Post has learned.
The sisters, it seems, are doing it for themselves – catering to customers of the alleged $3.6 million-a-year call-girl ring by forwarding calls from the company’s main line to outside phone lines, insiders said.
“It’s regulars only, cash only and out-calls only,” one source explained.
It’s unclear if the workers’ flamboyant accused pimp, Jason Itzler, is being cut in on the allegedly continuing action.
Investigators said johns paid $800 to $2,000 an hour for what Itzler promised as “The Ultimate Girlfriends experience” in ads on the agency’s Web site.
The NYPD is continuing its investigation into the agency, law-enforcement sources said.
But Itzler, a Hoboken, N.J., resident already on parole in New Jersey for a 2001 ecstasy-smuggling rap, has other worries.
Arrested Jan. 10, Itzler was hauled into Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday and told he’d been indicted in a monthlong investigation into his Worth Street business, located a stone’s throw from the courthouse.
“The charges in this case have been extracted out of context and magnified out of proportion,” said Mel Sachs, lawyer for Itzler and his co-defendant, Hulbert Waldroup, the service’s alleged hooker booker.
Itzler is also facing new charges in New Jersey, Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino told The Post.
The charges, promoting prostitution and possession of controlled substances, came after Hoboken police raided Itzler’s Washington Street apartment there, seizing documents and his computer, Rubino said.
Arrogant and given to stretching the truth – “I’m a lawyer,” the law-school grad who never took the bar exam recently boasted to The Post – Itzler is often referred to by his competitors as “the P.T. Barnum” of the sex industry.
“He’s a braggart and a shameless self-promoter, but he does know how to create a buzz,” said one Manhattan agency owner.
Itzler, who made his name running a “900” phone-sex business in Miami, launched Soho Models, a Manhattan phone and cybersex business, in 2002. Forced out by his partners, he then opened NY Confidential.
He set up a racy Web site and took out large ads in New York magazine.
Online and at the Erotic Review Board – a forum where johns rate their “dates” – Itzler’s “girls” always got high ratings.
The ads, Web site and Internet “ratings” caught the attention of undercover cops, according to the criminal complaint against him.
In one encounter at a New York hotel, an NY Confidential “date” agreed to have oral sex and intercourse for $990 with an undercover cop – and then asked him to log on to the Erotic Review forum and give a “10” rating, according to the complaint.
Women who’ve worked for Itzler described NY Confidential’s massive, Moroccan-themed Worth Street loft as a palatial playground for high-end pleasure seekers.
“We had a full-time piano player, and all the food and drinks you’d want,” said one.
Itzler remains in jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
