from www.dailyrecord.co.uk - A gay German porn star has shocked residents of a sleepy Highland village by announcing plans to move there.
Award-winning blue movie actor Logan McCree - whose credits include Porn Stars in Love, Hotter than Hell 2 and Rear Deliveries - is buying a plot of land in isolated Durness in Sutherland.
McCree, 33 - whose real name is Philipp Tanzer - says he fell in love with the village in the north-west Highlands when he visited two years ago.
But his long-standing love for Scotland is reflected in his choice of stage name.
He visited Durness again last month and spent his holiday looking at plots and property so he could spend more time in the area - which has a population of around 350.
Landowner Kevin Crowe, who is selling the land at Balnakiel Craft Village which McCree is interested in, said: "I had no idea who he was but we did have interest from a man called Phillip Tanzer."
Kevin, who married his partner Simon Long in the Highlands' first civil partnership in 2005, added: "He was over here looking for a piece of land to buy about a month ago and he said he was interested in the land we had advertised. I hope it goes ahead.
"He didn't mention what he was going to be using the land for.
"I wouldn't have thought anybody would have a problem with him moving here."
A friend of McCree said last night: "It was love at first sight for Logan.
"His acting is the day job - there is so much more to him than that. He knows it's pretty likely that he'll be the only gay porn star in the village but he's relaxed about it."
Locals last night said they were concerned at someone working in adult films moving to the area.
SNP councillor George Farlow, who serves North, West and Central Sutherland, said: "This is absolute news to me.
"I was at the Durness Community Council meeting a week ago and it wasn't raised. But I would have thought this was absurd in a remote and rural crofting area.
"I have no personal views because I haven't seen and don't wish to see any of his films.
"I just think it's totally inappropriate for the Highlands and indeed such a small area."
One outraged local, who asked not to be named, said: "When people find out what he does for a living, they will be really shocked.
"People here are quite broadminded but his films are a different matter.
"If he plans to make his living from that while he lives in this community, he might come up against some opposition. It's just not appropriate."
However, McCree insisted yesterday locals had nothing to worry about.
And the former DJ, who was in a relationship with American porn star Vinnie d'Angelo until recently, even claimed that he was no longer homosexual.
He said: "I've fallen in love with a wonderful woman, Zazna, and I'd love to bring her to stay with me once I've finish building my own house.
"I visited the area two years ago, and I was taken by the beauty of the place and the friendliness and openness of the people I met.
"I hope people will give me a chance to show them who I am, not what they've read about me, and that they get to know me before making any judgements."
McCree also revealed that he planned to open a hairdressers and massage salon in Durness.
McCree, who is almost completely covered in tattoos, describes himself as the "hottest German porn star around" on his website.
He shot to fame in 2007 after signing up with the Raging Stallion production company.
