WWW- The Brass Stables in Nashville's historic Printers Alley faces closure because the club in the narrow old building cannot comply with a new ordinance that requires that adult dancing be performed at least three feet away from customers.

The club, which by tradition is where Andrew Jackson kept his horses, is on the National Register of Historic Places, but because of its dimensions, an ordinance that took effect this month may "make it impossible for Plaintiff to operate its historic business, thus diminishing forever the historic nature and character of historic Printers Alley." The club owners sue the Metropolitan Government for Nashville and Davidson County in county court, claiming they should be grandfathered in and allowed to stay in business, presenting "entertainers who dance, sometimes less than fully clothed." The building was formerly known as the Utopia Hotel.
