POCOLA, Okla. — A police raid has closed down a local business on obscenity charges, leaving law enforcement officials to gather evidence and make arrests.
Authorities have been investigating what’s been going on at Adult World in Pocola for almost a month. Police closed the store on Monday night.
Police spent Tuesday collecting evidence that they say violates Oklahoma obscenity laws. So far, they’ve already seized almost 5,000 DVDs and VHS tapes, officials said. Authorities have arrested almost a dozen people who have come to the store on a variety of charges from possession of methamphetamine to possession of marijuana to having an outstanding warrant.
The district attorney’s office has not decided whether the owners of Adult World will face charges.
