CHICAGO - Illinois Senate candidate Jack Ryan canceled a fund-raising trip to Washington yesterday amid a swarm of publicity about embarrassing sexual revelations from his divorce records.

With support declining from Republican leaders, Ryan's spokeswoman denied speculation he's considering withdrawing from the race.

Even before it was revealed that his ex-wife - "Boston Public" actress Jeri Lynn Ryan - said he pressured her to perform sex acts while others watched, Ryan was considered an underdog in the Senate contest.

The sexual allegations were disclosed in divorce papers made public on a judge's order.

Ryan's spokeswoman said he called off the Washington trip after a fund-raiser with House Speaker Dennis Hastert was canceled because of a scheduling conflict.

Ryan also had been set to attend other fund-raising events.
